George P. Smith, a four-year member of Putnam Rotary, was the winner today in the first drawing in the 2011 Rotary Charity Raffle. His winning ticket pays a dividend of $500 for the $25 ticket.

However, Smith's good fortune today means the ticket will not be in the cage for the second drawing for $500 on March 15th or the Grand Prize drawing for $2,000 on April 12th.

We have our hearts set on a vacation cruise in the Caribbean, said Smith. "We'll just have to buy more tickets."

Tickets are still available through members of Putnam Rotary.
