Two new candidates took an oath for community service today, and received their pins as members of Putnam Rotary.

• Mike Fitzwater, active in Rotary since last December, is an imaging consultant with Aaron's Products, Inc. He and spouse Suzie are at home in Charleston. When not hunting or fishing, Mike likes to relax with percussion music.

• Jacob Stephens is a district executive with Buckskin Council, Boy Scouts of America. Jacob and spouse Missy are at home in Charleston. He enjoys hunting, fishing and camping.

In weekly meetings, Rotary offers opportunities for fellowship and professional growth. The club offers informal presentations followed by open discussions. In addition, several cmmunity service projects are supported by Putnam Rotary -- locally, regionally and internationally.

Both Stephens and Fitzwater say they were drawn to Rotary by the variety of programs and opportunities to participate in projects of "service above self."
