$2,000.00 jackpot!
Broyles brothers hold lucky ticket

April 13, 2010

Today marked the end of the second Rotary Charity Raffle as the tickets were mixed and a visitor drew out the winning ticket for the $2,000.00 jackpot held by brothers Ryan and Justin Broyles.

Ryan recently graduated from WVU, and now works in the family jewelry business, dividing his time between the Spring Hill and the Teays Valley stores. Part of his share will go into savings, and part will be donated back to Rotary.

Justin Broyles enters WVU in the near future, and his share of the winnings will come in handy for his first year of college.

Don Broyles, a charter member of Putnam Rotary, had purchased the jackpot ticket in the names of Justin and Ryan, who are his sons.

Their father served as club president in 2004-05 and again in 2007-08. He has twice been nominated a Paul Harris Fellow, a prestigious honor named for the founder of Rotary International.

Four years ago, Broyles led a district Group Study Exchange team on a tour to southern Australia.

Broyles is a certified gemologist with Calvin Broyles Jewelers. He and spouse Michelle are at home in South Charleston.
