A month into the new year, it may be a bit early to think about the fiscal year 2010-11, but Putnam Rotarians today elected their slate of officers and directors for the new fiscal year beginning July 1st.
President on that date will be Mike Herron Advantage Valley, elected despite a run of terrible jokes which have become a staple at the weekly luncheon meetings.
Today groans went up again as Herron told about the two television antennas on a roof who got married: "The wedding wasn't much," said Herron," but the reception was excellent."
President Elect is Bob Keely, with Christina McComas (Hurricane Postmaster) as President Nominee.
Keely will serve double duty next year as "first laddie" to his spouse, District Governor Mary Keely.
Glen Clark (Suddenlink) and Marilyn Pemberton will serve as Secretary and Treasurer respectively. The Treasurer serves a two-year term.
Joining Chet Marshall as Immediate Past President will be Directors Dianna Casto, Glen Gibbs, Bonnie Prisk (Marshall University), Cheryl Rust and Sam Sentelle (Board of Education).
Assistant District Governor Larry Nelson said the early election will allow time for incoming officers to participate in leadership training activities.
