Putnam Rotarians today presented a grant to support a local troop of Girl Scouts.
Marilyn K. Pemberton, a Field Executive with the Black Diamond Council, accepted the gift for Troop 2174 in Teays Valley.
The donation will cover tunics for girls in kindergarten and first grades and a sash for girls in second through fifth grades.
It will also cover activity recognition ensignia that go on the tunic and sash.
"The annual cookie sale has enabled the troop to raise money," said Pemberton, "but the Rotary grant will cover many expenses to enrich the local program."
