Olga Petrosyan
Witness in music
Olga's back!

January 20, 2009

She's a native of Azerbijan, but Armenian by blood. She grew up in Volgograd (formerly Stalingrad,in Russia). She came to Christian faith attending church with grandparents in a movie theater. By hard work and some scholarship assistance, she earned a degree in vocal performance from Bethel College in the United States. She married David Christoffersen who is Danish. Now Olga Petrosyan is a Nazarene missionary.

In the course of her busy 24 years, at least in the later chapters, she has taken time to visit "Papa Chet" Marshall and her many friends in West Virginia.

The multicultural musical prodigy is visiting several area churches during this trip to bring Christian witness in word and music.

Today marked her fourth repeat visit with Putnam Rotary, where she renewed old acquaintances and sang to her twelve-string guitar the hymn "How Great Thou Art." in Danish and Russian. Her audience joined her in singing the English version.

"How Great Thou Art," by the way, was written in Swedish. "O Store Gud."
