Putnam Rotary became a more diverse group today with the induction of Girl Scout leader Marilyn Pemberton into its membership.
With her pledge of "service above self," the field executive with the Black Diamond Council of the Girl Scouts joined ministers, accountants, elected officials, realtors and others who support multiple service projects local, regional and international.
The preeminent organization for girls in the United States, the Girl Schouts serves more than 3.7 young women.
Pemberton and her spouse Clem are at home in Winfield.
