Dr. William C. "Bill" Ellis, a charter member and guiding spirit of Putnam Rotary, has won the Amy Foundation Writing Award of Outstanding Merit for 2007.
The Foundation web site recognizes Ellis as a weekly syndicated columnist who writes on a wide variety of subjects, with more than 1600 published columns to his credit. He has traveled to every continent as a motivational speaker and has appeared before audiences in such countries as Kenya, Egypt, Israel, Thailand, and Guyana to name but a few.
He utilizes the enjoyment of life and just plain fun when speaking to high school, university and professional sports teams as well as to business and professional groups of all kinds.
His keen understanding of human problems and a warm sense of humor make him a favorite speaker for youth, parent, and senior adult meetings. He has spent 25 years as a radio and television broadcaster and as a guest speaker and teacher on college campuses.
The Amy Writing Awards recognize writers who present biblical truth reinforced with scripture in secular, non-religious publications.
