Joel S. McDavid, a financial consultant with A. G.. Edwards & Sons, was formally initiated into the ranks of Putnam Rotary today during the weekly luncheon meeting at Sleepy Hollow Country Club.
A native of Putnam County, McDavid was a Poca High "Dot" before college at WVU.
He earned a Master of Business Administration at Marshall.
After a brief tour with Morgan Stanley, McDavid joined A. G. Edwards, a full-service brokerage firm with over 6,500 consultants in 700 offices nationwide and in Europe.
McDavid had been aware of Rotary through its many educational and humanitarian projects both locally and internationally.
"Rotarians help build goodwill across the world," he said today. "I am proud to now belong to this organization to help make this a better place for all of us to live."
When not advising clients on investments and retirement plans, McDavid relaxes with golf and outdoor activities.
He and wife Elizabeth are at home in Hurricane with their two-week old son Stephen. They are active in St. John United Methodist Church in Scott Depot.
