The Rotary bench community service project is moving ahead, President Mary Keely announced today. The first of about fourteen public benches have now been delivered and assembled for inspection.

The placement of the concrete and marble inlay courtesy benches began in late March with placements at Scott Junction.

Two benches were placed last week at the Putnam County Fairgrounds in Eleanor. Additional benches were placed today at Corporate Centre and at Teays Valley Cinemas.

Putnam Rotary is continuing placement of the benches as an ongoing community service project. The initial effort includes fourteen benches as requested by businesses and community agencies.

"We may not be able to accommodate every request," said Keely. "We will try to honor requests in the order they are received by the club."
